The gorgeous Galaxy A52 also comes in 5G flavour, but unlike the lesser Galaxy A32 pair, where LTE and 5G variants cost the same and come with degraded screen and camera, this A52 5G provides enhancements as well as a price increase.
In addition to the flagship 5G connection, Samsung has picked the Snapdragon 750 5G CPU for the Galaxy A52 5G and fitted it with a 120Hz refresh rate Super AMOLED screen.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Design
Samsung is updating its Galaxy A series with a slew of new smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A52, featuring a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display and a refresh rate of 90Hz, joins the list.
The punch-hole cutout can be seen in the centre of the display, bringing in a recognizable pattern. The smartphone is available in the colours Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Display
The Super AMOLED screen of the A52 5G is 6.5 inches from corner to corner, with an FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080) resolution, and a pixel density of 405ppi.
Unlike the A51 from last year, this new model has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.
During testing, we discovered that the ‘Natural’ option most nearly matched the sRGB colour space, with 99.8 per cent coverage, 146 per cent total volume, and an average Delta E (colour accuracy) of 2.11.
Sure, there are a few small colour anomalies — red and bright green tones are a little oversaturated – but overall, this display looks pretty darn excellent for the price.
The maximum brightness of the screen is also not awful, peaking at roughly 449cd/m2 in auto mode with a flashlight focused on the A52 5G’s ambient light sensor. Because this is a Super AMOLED screen, the contrast is very excellent.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Performance
Under the hood, the powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC powers the Samsung Galaxy A52. The processor is combined with an Adreno G18 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage as default.
Users may use a microSD card to extend the memory up to 1TB. The Snapdragon 720G CPU can handle all of your smartphone’s duties without a hitch. However, there is no support for 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Battery
With the display set to 90Hz, the 4500mAh battery can comfortably last one day. On really heavy usage days, the battery will most certainly be depleted by late evening or you may have to resort to mid-day recharge.
A 25W USB PD converter is required for rapid charging, however, Samsung does not provide one in the package. The 15W adaptive fast charger is just marginally quick.
We had a 25W USB PD charger sitting around, and a full charge took around 1 hour and 30 minutes. The included 15W charger took around 2 hours and 15 minutes to charge.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Camera
Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy A52 features a quad-camera arrangement at the back, which is one of the device’s main selling points. The 64MP primary shooter, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP depth sensor, and 5MP macro camera are all available to users.
The punch-hole cutout houses a second 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The cameras include OIS support and can produce some stunning images. When used in conjunction with Samsung’s software, the Galaxy A52 may be used to edit and recreate photographs.
